How to use this website

This website has been divided into three separate panels:

  • The left panel is general information about the site audience, further connections and links, other support sites and textbook references.
  • The middle panel are all the pages on the various topics.
  • The right panel has the internal search engine at the top and the complete list of topics and titles for this site, as well as the archive.

The right panel is divided into four groups:

  • Search engine (unfortunately not always reliable).
  • Teacher resources.
  • Other useful sites and links.
  • General information topics about culture, society, language and issues.
  • The largest Japanese cities.
  • The 100 to 800 numbers are graded pages which introduce the learning of the Japanese language. If you work through those pages in order, you will end up completing the whole Japanese language learning process based on the New Zealand Ministry of Education curriculum framework.
  • The Blog Archive.

The left panel is divided into four groups:
  • The Kitto Dekiru pages are the references pages to a New Zealand textbook/workbook, which also follow a well-structured Japanese language learning pattern.
  • The Obentō Textbook is behind the relevant page references. It is an Australian textbook.

  • The Mirai Textbook is behind the relevant page references. It is also an Australian textbook.
  • General visitor information.

For those visitors who do not have English as their language of communication, we apologise. Maybe you just enjoy looking at the pictures, after all a picture speaks a thousand words. We hope you enjoy this website and that it is helpful on your learning journey. (We realise that if you don’t understand English that this explanation is pointless. We hope you have a friend who can help you.)

Every so often we get a bit carried away by our own sense of humour (we think we have that), so don’t take it personal. No offense intended. We like the Japanese language, we like the culture and we really like lots of Japanese people – though not all. Mind you, not all Japanese people like each other either. Never mind. Enjoy! The learning process is as life itself is – it´s all what you make of it!

We have three more future development projects for this site and they are the addition of sound (click on the picture and hear the word), the addition of PowerPoints (we have lots of them on many topics – particularly grammar) and further expansion of information on more senior language patterns including grammar knowledge with examples. However, time and circumstances mean that you will have to wait just a little longer for those.

While you are learning, you will experience all these emotions …

But in the end…

“All the very best!”

がんばって!
