Wikipedia has a lot of interesting, up-to-date information about sites in Japan. These photos are taken from Wikipedia and they show how far the development of the new Skytree Tower Building in Sumida Ward (old Musashi), Tokyo, has come.
We are not so sure, if these tall structures are either necessary or a good idea (you may call it the Babel-factor), but one has to admit that these structures are quite a feat of achievement. Again, we would have thought that the appalling Twin Towers drama had cured people of such grandiose building ideas. There are surely natural towers that could be used (we call them mountains). Oh, well, let’s enjoy these photos for now.

The Skytree Tower is 634 metres high. An interesting detail is that the tower was built in a suburban area of Tokyo that used to be called Musashi. The height of the tower (6-3-4), if you translate it into Japanese, is mu-sa-shi, or 6-3-4, む – さ – し as well. Coincidence? We knew that would be an interesting detail; you will never forget the height of that tower anymore. You are ready for Trivial Pursuit!
