The Japanese Language textbook series Kitto Dekiru is based on the New Zealand Curriculum Document and the Japanese Language Curriculum. These new textbooks systematically develop the learning patterns through a carefully thought-out strategy enabling students to learn the script, the vocabulary as well as the grammatical patterns. Much cultural knowledge has been incorporated. Book, chapter and page references have been organised under the separate KD headings. Jenny Short is to be commended on her standard-setting work. Jenny Short has also been involved in the senior series called Getting There in Japanese.
